Brisbane Open House is a free event, providing Brisbane residents and visitors with the rare opportunity to discover the hidden wealth of art, architecture, engineering and history in buildings, places and organisations around our city.
Daniel Templeman is a contemporary artist working predominantly with prominent public artworks. Working with shape, depth of colour and texture Daniel’s works can be bold and visually striking – claiming their place in our urban landscape. Daniel’s work evolves organically from one project to the next and Daniel is known for his public art works at locations such as the Brisbane Magistrates Court, the Southbank Education Precinct and the Gold Coast University Hospital.
Since manufacturing Daniel’s first major sculptural commission – Confluence –at the Brisbane Magistrates court in 2004 Albert Smith Signs is once again privileged to work with Daniel as his manufacturing partner for his latest commission -“Missing Corners”.
A special preview of “Missing Corners” was held at our manufacturing facility in July to allow participants to explore, examine and engage with the development of Daniel’s latest commission in its manufacturing environment – Albert Smith Signs. Daniels presentation was followed by a tour of our production facility.
A participant comment from the event:
“Thanks again for the wonderful time spent at Albert Smith Signs last Saturday with Daniel Templeman. It was great to have things so well explained and to also receive a lovely morning tea plus a sample bag. What more could we have asked for”.
