Brisbane Markets has a long history and was established as Brisbane Municipal Markets in Roma St in 1885. As the Brisbane CBD grew the Municipal Markets were moved to Rocklea in 1964 and is now a public company known as Brisbane Markets Limited.
Albert Smith also has a long history and was established as Smith and Sons Pty Ltd (manufacturer of rubber stamps) in 1873 in the Brisbane CBD. As a school boy our current Managing Director, Rodney Smith, recalls delivering rubber stamps to the markets at Roma St in the late 50’s and early 60’s. Smith and Sons Pty Ltd, today known as Albert Smith Signs, remains a family owned and operated company and is located at Bulimba.
Brisbane Markets and Albert Smith have once again partnered for the manufacture and installation of their main identification signage.
Brisbane Markets recognise the importance of bold statements with pylon signs to maximise the visibility of their brand and their retailers brands. Pylon signs are the largest signs available and are an effective tool to promote site identification, awareness and recognition. Pylon signs are available in a wide variety of sizes, shapes and finishes with the options of LED illumination and the inclusion of LED screens to deliver your message.
The 8 metre pylon signs installed at Brisbane Markets are double sided so they are visible from all directions. The sign faces are vinyl graphics on polycarbonate panels to withstand environmental conditions and deliver a long life. The graphic areas are illuminated with ASTech LED’s to deliver maximum brand visibility.
The LED screens are seamless with no borders and are 1680mm W x 1120mm H x 250MM D and the cabinet is powder coated black steel. The ASTech LED’s are 10mm pitch, full colour with 160×112 pixel resolution. This means the screen message can be read quickly and clearly by passing traffic. The message communication method is an asynchronous system of upload and play to give the customer control of the networking aspect.
