Minor hotels diverse spectrum of hotel chains and brands connects to the needs and desires of today’s global travellers, in some of the world’s most stunning destinations. AVANI Broadbeach nestled between the casino and beach was chosen as the first location for the AVANI brand in Australia.
Our challenge for creating corporate signage for such a strong and prestigious brand name was to maximise the visual impact within the constraints of local authority regulations and especially considering the logistics for installation required on the 35th storey. The new landmark illuminated sky signs on the west and south elevations of AVANI Broadbeach Gold Coast Residences are certainly an outstanding addition to the Broadbeach Skyline. Large illuminated AVANI letters were also installed at the main AVANI entry for maximum impact.
The installation of the high level illuminated signs was an enormous task, impacted by the challenge we experienced due to extreme weather conditions. The method of lifting the signs for installation to the 35th floor was via specialist industrial rope access and winches, though on many days it was so windy that it was impossible to work under such conditions. It was thanks to the expertise of our rope specialist team that the install was completed without incident.
The high level 2 metre individual letters were fabricated in aluminium with white acrylic faces, then overlaid with vinyl to the AVANI corporate colour. The letters were mounted to steel support rails which were fixed to the building structure, which also allowed the letters to sit clear of the building. The individual letters were back lit with ASTech LED’s, delivering bright and even illumination, cost effective power consumption and savings on future maintenance cost associated with such a challenging location.
The main entry identification Permasign letters were manufactured from aluminium, painted white and affixed to the entry retaining wall. The building letters were illuminated with LED clear perspex up lights overlaid with a translucent vinyl to MHG colour specifications to provide a purple wash over the exterior building sign.
High level and Sky signage installation projects demand particular expertise and experience to manage complex logistical challenges, all aspects of safety management and public protection during installation.
